2020 Ladies Celebration Key Note Speakers
I was saved in February of 1988 in a little missions church outside of Misawa Air Base, in Misawa Japan. My husband was in the United States Air Force and this was our first duty station. Even though I did not grow up in a Christian home, I went to church off and on as a child. As a teenager, I got involved in the wrong crowd at school and started using drugs and alcohol. My life was out of control and I needed a change. In my Sophomore year of school I met the man of my dreams, Bob. I knew I was going to marry him. We were high school sweethearts and a year prior to graduation he asked me to marry him and I gladly said YES! After graduation we were married and he joined the USAF and we received our first orders to Japan, but there was a problem. I could not go with him, so we were separated for 6 months due to lack of housing on the base. During the six months of separation I turned to drugs and alcohol once again to deal with life. During this time, my husband was saved at Faith Baptist Church in Misawa, Japan. He called me and told me what God had done in his life and when I came to Japan we were going to church. I
wasn’t sure what he was talking about but I did have respect for the church and for God and I knew I desperately needed a change in my life. So in February of 1988, I flew to be with my husband in Japan. The first Sunday I was there, we went to church. I heard the gospel clearly for the first time and all my sin was before me and I knew I needed a Savior. That morning after hearing a “hot” message on Hell, I literally ran to an old fashioned altar and asked the Lord Jesus Christ to come into my life and save me from my sin and I was gloriously saved! I gave my whole heart and life over to Jesus that morning. In 1990, God called my husband to preach and in 1992 he called us to missions. We prepared to get out of the military and start Bible college and find a Mission Board. In 1994 we joined Baptist International Missions and in 1997 we went back to Pastor the same church where the Lord saved us and called us into His service. We served as missionaries to our USAF at Faith Baptist Church and then moved to Maranatha Baptist Church in Okinawa, Japan. We thought we would die on the mission field but GOD had other plans. In 2012, God moved us back to the United States to our hometown in TN where we served in a local church there waiting on directions from the Lord. In 2016, God opened the door and called us to come to Maranatha Baptist Church here in Yorktown. We have three grown daughters, Alicia, Courtney and Haley who all married Chrisitian men and a fourteen old son named Hudson. They are all serving God and doing His will for their lives. I have two grandsons, Dawsyn and Gavin and one granddaughter Kaylynn and another grandbaby on the way! I enjoy serving the Lord alongside my wonderful husband of 33 years and ministering to ladies in all walks of life. |
Remonia has been saved for 49 years. She was saved while attending Vacation Bible School. Remonia has worked with the teens at Sharon Baptist Church for many years. Her hearts desire is to help women of all ages know how much God loves them and that they are precious to our Lord Jesus.
"Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee:" Isaiah 43:4a "How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee." Psalm139: 17-18 |
